Mooncake Phobia

Today I went to Takashiaya to take a beautiful look at mooncake festival fair at basement but I did not go down to take a look at evey mooncake stalls at basement. I just admire at decoration set-up only.

I do have phobia of eating mooncake. I had a straight long suffering fever after eating few small pieces of mooncake last year and had a terrible throat ulcer. I had blogged about this too, see Suffering Fever Bug (11th - 15th Sept 06).

I never forget this happening till now and when I see the mooncake, it reminds me constantly. I will never eat this ever again even mooncakes such as strawberry, lotus, yam and etc all are so nice to eat. Used to love eating mooncakes when I was young but now.... pity me okie.

If you are mooncake lovers, like to try eating different type of mooncakes, you may go down to Takashiaya Basement but I do not know when will it ends. Probably from 2 - 3 weeks from now on, so you may better make a little quick trip there before it gone for your own good.

combo color I likeeeeeee

Saw my hubby reading this book and quite attracted to this designed of combo color (black and while). Really like this designed that looked so powerful and unique one. I dont look at those words featured on it as I dont know what is it about. Sadly, he only has it which was for planners only. Not for me mah.

Then I happened to browse this book and found my idol, Christopher Gardner who share his REAL LIFE story about himself and became successful what he is today now. I have the book which he wrote about his life and the dvd movie "The Pursuit of Happyness" acted by Will Smith as a Gardner.

Story of Rocky Balboa

Became soft-hearted to give in and watched this dvd show with my hubby even I was clueless what it was about and did not know who is sylvester stallone or rocky balboa. "paiseh".... thought this show was more suitable for men lah. He did not want to watch it alone and wanted me to watch and undertood what it was about.

When watching it, felt very sad and touched...try not to drop tear, okie. Overall, the story was excellent. Every parts of this show, I really could not explain its own feeling itself unless you watch it then you may know abit and abit. In fact, I was told that there got dvd part 1 to 6 of this show (about his young days as champ boxer and etc...) as this one dvd was the final chapter.

This rocky balboa was a champion boxing fighter for so long already, let said 25 years before he was retired and own a restaurant eventually. By time, he was already about 50 ++ years old and many people remembered & loved him much during his glory days.

Proved people that Rocky was still strong ever after, despite of his age and could do boxing to prove that he is not useless as they thought or seen. 30 years after the clang of the first bell, Rocky done his gloves for the last time and delivers a KO - (knockout). This "triumphant final chapter of one of the most iconic characters in the history of motion pictures".

Not one to back down, Rocky commits to the unthinkable: he agrees to the fight of his life...and pushes himself to the breaking point to the distance one last time.

Another one, my hubby said I should find some familiar of this man, Sylvester Stallone was the one who once acted as Rambo in old time movie. When I heard him, I started to laugh at him. And I told him that I never watch this rambo lor. Only I remembered that Rambo armed with long run and red band tie around his head and arm, if I am not wrong lah. Dont know why I was like this, so silly of me, oops.. haha.... But still, I recommend you to watch this show.

New dish from my Heart

Dont know what to name this dish and actually I anyhow cook that I can within my own heart and thought. Actually, it is easy step of cooking this dish. At least, it is not heavy cooking work, I guess.

This dish only took you about less than one hour to prepare everything. It did not need to have much items. Somemore that I did not add sugar or salt or else to this. That is why we eat healthy home-cooked food at home for weekdays only. Weekdays is my usual to cook for my hubby after his work. Weekends is alternation days if we will eat outside if his friends call my hubby out or not.

Just only few items: - kway teow noodle, mini fishball x 4 (cut into pieces), tomatoes x 2 and minced lean pork cooked together with tomatoes sauce.

*A must have vegetable to this dish as else I cannot live without it, really lah. I still eating crazy different kinda of vegetables since I was only 7 - 8 years old till now.*

Must thanks to my grandma and mummy.

Love Kueh Affair

Yesterday before my mother, uncle and sis came to my home, I woke up early and went to shopping centre to buy mooncakes and few pieces of kueh. And one set of mooncake was for my mother.

Really, it was not usual of myself like this and made my hubby wondering why I am like this lah. No idea either and I told him that I just want to have few kueh cakes for myself to satisfy my unusual craving.

Hubby said in his grin looks, " oh really is it? think baby wants it too. better go and buy now."

I replied with smile, "ya. I buy some for you too, dun worry lah."

Not like during in my first and second trimesters, I never had a nice craving like this till now is the third trimester. Dont know why either and I will going to ask my gynae about this next week Thursday. But I still got to watch what I eat carefully and my pregnancy weight too, ya.





Bought nine pieces of kueh cakes for him and myself. They are kueh angku, kueh dadar, kueh salat, lapis sagu and binka ubi.

Actually, they are all my hubby's favourite kueh cakes...even I ate them and baby loves it much too.

Ceiling deco or chocolate bar

That (ceiling) was taken at my home. And was stumped by my hubby's friends who visited him, saying that ceiling looks more like a chocolate bar or kit kat. Surprised, I said the same thing to my hubby last 2 years when moving in our home. Still, he said that as long as it looks unique and nice since it was his idea to get interior designer to do designing our home. It was not at living room or bedrooms. Something like along the lobby near living room,ya. Well, at very least I really appreciate his creative & funny imaginative idea like this.

The Beachwarmers

Today my hubby and I watched the most comedy DVD - The Benchwarmers. Highly recommended to watch this show amd we laughed non-stop till it ended prefectly. I not sure if it has been featured show in local movies or not.

3 older Dudes should be able to beat 9 young Jocks...Right? *it is what the show is about.*

late night craving

Last night, I had a craving for malay fried rice with prawn and my hubby bought 2 take-away packets. This fried rice tasted really very much different from chinese fried rice and could not stop saying delicious when eating it with my hubby.

Only SGD $2.50 for this best fried rice.

Look for this malay restaurant: -
Mak's Place along between Jalan Kembangan and Changi Road. Very near to Kembangan MRT station and take about 10 mins to walk to this restaurant. Best timing to have dinner there at 630pm onwards. There got malay western food which is damn nicer and highly recommended. Had western dinner there yesterday.

In The Third Trimester

Now I am into third trimester towards to my delivery date soon. This book I am reading has never bored me and keep reading them several times to understand better of the baby development inside me. You can see how precious of little life inside you throughout the 9 months pregnancy journey.

Really think third trimester is more fun than the second trimester because can feel baby movement regularly and baby J seems like to get small attention from either me or my hubby. Baby J is really more responsive when my hubby is around with me. Especially at the numerous of nights, I could not sleep well due to baby J's "playful" movement inside me and been trying to tell him to sleep..sleep.... Yet, I smile at him and hubby when sleeping. Think I am little funny lah.

The Developing Baby: -

Subcutaneous fat helps baby to regulate its own body temperature, an essential development for life after dleivery, althought this ability is only partially acquired in the uterus, and newborn babies still lose heat very quickly. As the dat is laid down, the lanugo hair becomes sparser and soon only a few patches over the back and shoulders will remain, although the coating of white vernix will stay untill about 36 weeks. The hair on the scalp will lengthen and the eyebrows and eyelashes will become fuller. Skin creases can be seen on the hands and feet, and little fingernails and toenails are also clearly invisible.

Now that the eyelids are open, baby will start to blink and will become much more aware of difference in light. This new sense allows the baby to be more responsive to external stimuli; many mothers notice their babies has developed a distinct pattern of rest alternating with activity. The baby is also able to start focusing at this stage, although the distance is limited to about 15-20cm until after the brith.

Precious words

This morning was very warm and I was all sweating. Realised that air con was automatically off at early wee morning about 4 - 5am. So I removed my pink blanket from me and slept continuously till 11am.

Actually my hubby tried to wake me up at 9am but too tired to wake up. Then he again wake me up at 10.15am, I did not know why I slept so tightly and refused to wake up. Last night from 11+ pm till 3+ am, I kept going toilet and have to adjust my sleeping position with my belly.

Saw the light seemed so strongly reflect to my room and wondered what time was it. So I got my hp and shocked it was already 11.30am. Alittle screamed from my heart and get ready because I did not know that my hubby was waiting for me. So bad of me......heart pain tightly..... And had my pink blanket to wash.

He consoled me sweetly and told me not to rush. Wanted me to take my time sweetly. I asked him why he said like this in this tone.

He said those previous words "darling, the more he is happy, the more he sees my belly is growing bigger and bigger."

No wonder, baby responds very well to my hubby whenever he talks or pat on my belly. Seemed both of them have a special connection. Still we are looking forward to our baby's arrival soon.

Evian

Just a thought to take photo of this to kill my waiting time outside my hubby's office yesterday. My first time to buy this Evian water bottle and tasted differently from my home.

Emigration or Moving Out

Was at a friend's place for a while and I was a little kinda of "curious" when I saw so many boxes that seals with green stickers. The boxes looked like very neat packaging and some are sealed with strong double scrotch or what. Does not look like moving to a new home. More looked like emigration. The man looked after the boxes.

Actually it reminded me of my previous owner of my home who is singaporean wife and emigrated to US with his english husband last 2 years ago. This wife is extremely friendly and allowed us to view her home few times before considered to buy. In end, she decided to sell us at the best lowest market price of 4-rooms flat. Was shocked and delighted, of course and we immediately signed the paper. But the number of boxes we moved in was only 10 - 12 boxes (some big and small sizes).

Spaghetti Indulge One

Just had a sudden craving for spaghetti and I prepared dinner stuffs before my hubby came home from work. It took me about 1 hour to prepare pasta and not so difficult as you think.

Prefer this fresh corn to preserved corn canned. Just put fresh corn into boiling pot till it becomes soft. Also can use streaming container if you prefer. Once it became soft, more easier to cut corn like this.

The following items: carrot x 1 half, broccoil x 1 medium whole, lean light pork (enough to fill the small bowl), fresh corn, carbonara and spaghetti (just take out half portion).

Instant spaghetti had to boil till it became soft. Sure you know how to cook spaghetti in many ways..probably better than me.. hehe... Just nice portion of spaghetti to fit the plate.

Quite easy and fast spaghetti cooking. Just cook light lean pork first till it is fully cooked. Then the next to broccoil and carrot and corn to mix cooked altogether.

I just simply love to eat low-fat and prefer more to eat spaghetti include with broccoil. One day I will try to cook beef spaghetti even I dont know how to cook beef. But just give it a try next time, ya.

Baby Care Gift Pack

Went to see gynae yesterday with my hubby and he was too excited to know what & how baby doing inside me. Then had ultra scan and we were surprised to see baby so good boy and sleeping sweetly. Baby prince was in the similar sleeping position as my hubby - (like lying his head on arm while left arm is on other side.) Hubby started to laugh and smile at doctor after hearing that baby is very healthy & active.

After collected my medicine and the staff gave me this baby care gift pack and blue baby bag. I am going to use this bag to pack baby stuff for my delivery soon in November 2007.

Opened the pink bag and alot of useful booklets about baby and pregnancy thingy. Also got sample of Dumex Mamil Pregnancy milk and Huggies Diapers. I not sure which brand of diaper shall I use for my baby.

Bon Appetizer I

Yesterday I had a quiet "romance" breakfast with my hubby at Hanis restaurant and it was not fully crowded till 1015am - 1030am. That was before the BPL match between Man Utd and Man City. Sigh...already know the soccer final result of this. So sad :((

Then after that I secretly bought some cakes back home without telling my hubby as I had a sudden craving for sweet cake. No chance to eat till now.

meet MDRT Successors 2007

Probably you all may not know what is MDRT stands for or have not heard of it. Same for me as at the first time I heard my hubby mentioned this. Baffled what is that till when he brought me to AC Office opening ceremony (last year) near Raffles Place area.

Damn shocked to see so many people wearing black suits on that day of opening ceremony...ya men in black lor... but also women in black too. Then I walked into new office opp Hans Restaurant of GE building. I nearly got lost to count so many trophies and photos gallery which successors travelled to many countries such as Holland, US, Japan, Korea and else. not bad really. By then I know what is MDRT - Million Dollars Round Table which holds every years.

Show you the real successors on this newletter I got from my hubby. Successors those who worked very.....very hard to make it to MDRT. I have to remind this as a motivation for my hubby who is now working hard to make it.

Colin Ong (from right side and 2nd one) who keeps disturbing my hubby, just to motivate him harder.

I have met few people (Colin, Irene, Vincent, Patrick and Xavier) who had been to MDRT more than 5 times or every years. Thanks to my hubby who introduced them to me. Because of them, he joined GE as Life Planner after he left army force early this year. Till now, he is more happier to save people and baby endownment planning and else many.

Think...maybe soon you will see more and more GE successors on Straits Times newspaper or you happen to hear this from your circle friends outside.

Golden Japanese Udon Noodle

My hubby used to cook dinner for us when I was just a few weeks pregnant till at 5th month, he was extrememly busy with his works and comes home after 8pm. Really heart pain to see him work so hard for the sake of our coming baby little prince.

So I took my turn to cook something nice from Monday to Friday. Happened to think of cooking Japanese Udon fried noodle. Actually it was my first attempt to cook this. I just tried cooking any dishes...anyhow lah.. :)) but turn out nice and simple dish still....

Japanese fresh udon noodle, broocil x 1 half, green pepper x 1, small corn x 1 pkt and 3 eggs.

First step to start cooking. Lean Light pork must be cooked very deep so that I wont taste the raw of it.

Second step: cook broocil, green pepper and small corn altogether till it is well cooked enough. After that, put them in plate.

Third step. I finally learnt and mastered how to cook egg. Thanks to my hubby taught me. hehe. Fried eggs must be firm and fully cooked.

Here is the come of the final step, after cooked the eggs then put udon noodle and lean pork into wok together to fry first. Then put one tablespoon of dark soya sauce and tabsco. Till the udon fried became brown nicely. Lastly put the broocil, pepper and corn to mixed with them altogether. I dont usually add MSG or sugar or salt to it.

Finally it was really not so difficult to cook this dish. As I just put my heart and soul and love to cook this specially for my hubby. Just want him to relax and eat dinner happily at home after hard work in office or meeting his cilents. Really glad to hear that he said nice with smile. :))

She is not ME

One of my friend who sent me this picture website (below) and she thought that the girl in white top and black pant is me. She assumed too much to think or believe that I am this girl. Because I looked like her even more.

When I saw it and quite surprised that at her side of face really resembled me partly, but I really swear that I am not her. Speak the truth that she is far more beautiful than me. Pardon me, I do not have twin sister, really lah.

Topshop Error Measurement

Bought two different colors long vest tops when I was only 3 months pregnant. I chose this size 16 so that it is able to last me wearing them till the full term of 9 months. I am actually wearing topshop size 10-12 at my pre-pregnancy weight.

However, I did not realise the difference measurement till I found at last. No wonder when I first wore grey one and found too loose. Then the next few days later, I wore the pink one and felt not too loose.

Felt something wrong so I put them flat on my bed to check and realised the size width difference even thought both are the same size tag label 16 shown on picture below.

I have learnt my lesson for not checking the size or measurement identify before purchase it. Strange, I did trying both at changing room before I bought it. I guess it was over already and will remember this in my heart to check double before buy it, ya. Guess it may apply the same to you in case. Dont want you to be the next sad shopper like me, haha...
