new parenthood
After given birth baby jayden, I suddenly felt so much different and so many things to learn how to look after baby and else many. It will be my new lessons to learn soon, probably next week after my incision is fully recovered abit.
Actually I am quite nervous and have to be extra careful when handling jayden as he is so energetic baby who likes to make his body movement much. But he makes me love him even more than I love myself.
So far, my hubby managed to learn how to carry him, feed him and change his nappies. Really proud of him. He likes to "disturb" baby jayden to wake up and play with him after his few hours busy working. I know that he loves baby jayden as he is his precious one.

1st week check-up
Then for incision, I was quite surprise that no pain when the string taken out from incision. Only feeling little itches somewhere on incision area on my abdomen and was told to take care of it.
I took out the newborn blue romper for him to wear and it fits him pretty well. I simply started to love his little soft hair style just like "beckham's hair". Very spikery heehee.. I bought blue romper last August 07 and it was a biggest damage only $8.90, retial price was $15 something at takashiaya.
Yesterday, baby jayden was a week old and he is getting alittle naughty and make so much noises. hehehe....

MEH candlelight dinner - day 4
Was surprised that my hubby and I had a candlelight dinner at the single ward that I stayed for 3 days and it was the day before we checked out tomorrow. The meal was quite fantastic and more like western style dinner set. But the bread was super hard and could not eat it. Only strawberry cake, various fruits, orange juice, lobester soup and spaghetti with fish. Actually it was our first time to have this such a dinner like this in hospital. It looked more like a hotel to us haha....

Defeated post natal blue - day 3
I had to endure the pain on lower abdomen and could not move anything. All I was to lie on bed and kept staring at my baby who was beside me. But walking around was the big problem to me and I had to adjust my sleeping position that was advised by the nurse there. Only when the pain was gone when I looked at baby who was still sleeping, pooping and feeding so long.
I did not dare to look at my own lower abdomen and tried not to scare myself. Also did not want to measure the length of incision on my lower abdomen. Just all I wanted to have it fully recovery before I can start running, ya. Good thing was that I defeated the post-natal blue pregnancy. It wont affect me much then.
After few hours resting on bed, I managed to move abit and abit and get up very slowly in order not to hurt my lower abdomen. Still could walk but very slow like turtle.... ops....

beautiful world for baby jayden - day 2
final labour - day 2
At 1 - 3am, the contraction was getting worse and more painful till I could not take it longer and unable to stay calm well. I never knew the feeling of being so painful within my own skin inside. And even I screamed at my hubby gently to ask for his comfort and also adjusted my sleeping positions to avoid getting backspin pain grew. I even closed my eyes tightly to tell myself to endure it abit and abit.
Dr Lim TB came and checked and examined me regularly every 3 hours even he is only 60+ years old. Surprised? He is a great patient and effective doctor who is highly recommended by my hubby's cousin and her friends.
Then at about 4am, I could not take pains any longer and asked for pain relief jab on my right butt to control the level of contraction pain. Shall I rate the pain more than 7/10, okie. After 30 minutes, it made me giddy and lessen the pain, then I fell asleep for 2 - 4 hours. Pain relief jab only lasted 4 hours limited.
At 5am, Dr Lim TB came and inserted to check whether my cervix opened or not. Disappointed that it was still remained 1-2cm after 11 hours. I had to endure the contraction pain for straight 11 hours then. Really unexplained why it was like this.
From 6am to 12pm, it was more busier for nurses and Dr Lim TB to check on me every 2-3 hours and of course, I was expecting my cervix to open up faster and sooner. But the pain had increased even more suffering on me. The drip and syntocinon - the drug is administered via an intravenous drip inserted into a vein in my hand.
From 1pm to 3++pm, was the worst part I remembered till now and everything was not within my planning or what I expected. Still, I could not take pain any longer after the first pain-relief jab at 4am. Then at 4pm earlier, I asked for the last pain-relief jab again to control the pain. Lastly, Dr Lim TB came at about 4+ pm and again inserted inside me and found that it was still the same after the longest straight 22 hours. Then he told my hubby that I had to go for induction of labour immediately at 4++pm.
Induction may be used for women who have never shown any signs of going into labour and also a few whose waters have broken but who fail to start contracting within 24 hours.
I was told that the drip or syntocinon or cervix might not used to react on me and it was unexplained case. However, I guess I had no other choice and just hope that my baby is fine & safe during induction.
Nurse said not only me, many pregger women also go for induction for other reasons. But I think I am just luckier as I do not have any history medicine or health problems so I will have higher chance of getting speed recovery after operation as long as I am still into sports. I was told that I am only the one who could stand the pain for the straight 22 hours.
** to be continued - baby jayden arrived on 20th November 2007, just 3 days EDD earlier. **

painless contraction - day 1
I had a painless contraction for almost several hours and thought nothing wrong with it but my lower abdomen started to act up the numerous of pains till my lower pelvis could not take it longer. Then my hubby contracted my gynae doc Dr Lim TB immediately when my belly became harder and painless. Supposed to go for my gynae appointment on 20th Nov 07 but doc told us to come down instead.
Finally reached Mt Elizabeth centre and went to see my gynae doc and he checked my belly and eventually inserted his finger inside. *scream* never knew that it was very painful till my tears came out. My cervix was slightly opened and was told that it may open within 18 hours today.
Was told that I had to admission to delivery suite at MEH now. I said so soon and managed to stay calm all the way. Before we settle at admission for payment and else, we had our early dinner at delifrance cafe, paragoon at about 4 ++ pm. I ate sandwiches with egg and hot tea to increase my energy for labour in case.
Then we walked back to MEH to settle everything done and ahead to delivery suite at 5 - 6pm. When I lie on bed, nurse and my gynae doc Dr Lim TB came to examine me thoroughly and he inserted inside me to burst my water bag. Could feel the gush of water coming out and it was a huge painful. My cervical dilatation was 1cm opened then.
Firstly was the external electronic fetal monitor on my belly - is used to measure to measure the baby's heart rate and the strength of the uterine contractions.
Then, I had to stand the painful feeling that insert inside my left hand - a drip stand. Till about 10 - 11 plus am, my contraction started acting up very very painful and could not torture it. Nurse told me that drip was for to speed up the open up my cervix.
No choice, so I have to endure it. Very regular yet painful and it kept awaking me up everytimes. And nurses at suite were all very friendly and extremely patience concern about me when came to take temperature and blood pressure on me.
I was grateful with my hubby who was with me the whole day to make sure I was alright but his heart was aching to see me enduring with painful contractions for straight 6 hours constantly.

concerned symptoms & signs
Recently my hubby's friend just given born a healthy baby boy on 14th Nov 07, just 5 days earlier before her EDD.
Same for my own circle friends (2 women) also gave birth their sons on same day on 26th October 07, just 7 days before their EDD. Wondering why so many baby boys born this year? Is it another power of baby boom of the year piglet? :))
The past 2 days I simply was little fooled by this kinda of practice like braxton hicks contractions. But not frequent strong pain and it becames irregular. Before this, I thought it will be going to have a real contractions and even got my hubby to call 24-hours emergency clinic about this.
Sometimes my lower backspin got the painful and could not torture it longer for 2 - 3 hours then after that, it went away. Then next I got the stomach-pain just like having period almost 45mins to 1 hour then it fades away for half hours then it came back again. It becomes more like an irregular patterns but I wont go hospital so early unless must see the true labour.
My mother was constantly anxious and excited...she wants the first person to see my son's birth. I have given her a promise already. She had been stay with me for 2 days to watch over me and now my hubby takes turn.
Yesterday was the worst one that I had bad pain lower abdomen and back. Tried to bear with it for few hours and managed to get back to bed to gather up energy for labour time. I seem getting impatient already and waiting for my little baby to come out. Even my relatives and my hubby are too excited and happy waiting to welcome him.
Still I will pray that my delivery will be smooth sailing sooner than I expect,ya.

bittersweet past vintage collection
Been browsed through ebay auction for last few days and saw the biggest & most interesting and the most beautiful vintage collection that attracted my eyes, especially bittersweet. Used to hate wearing dress that looked very kinda of overdress or too weird on me. Till when I was 6 months pregnant, I started to wear maternity dress and learnt to appreciate the dress ones. Not all dresses I like. To my little personal taste, I only like five dresses from this bittersweet layout but unfortunately, the lady seller emailed me saying all SOLD OUT within 3 days. whoa.. so fast. Guess no luck then...

waiting for my d-day
I do actually felt that 40 weeks being a pregnant is too long, exhausting and torture for women even it is such a joy & sweet memory & experiences. Guess different women have different experiences.
I am trying not to tense or scare myself too much but will be face big challenge with delivery process soon and hoping not to have any pain-relief. Been told my hubby that I have the biggest faith in my gynae doctor to handle the entire delivery to ensure that it is smooth sailing to bring my little baby out into this beautiful world.
Aware that most common emotion women experience at this late stage of pregnancy are impatience that they are waiting for D-day to arrive and frustration because there is no way of knowing when it will occur. By now, many women feel quite desperate to reach the end of their pregnancy, however enjoyable it has been. haha... think i sound like kinda of desperate one,ya.
Labour represents an enormous emotional and physical challenge and I suspect that many of you will be viewing it with a mixture of excitement and apprehension, since it is almost impossible to predict exactly how it will proceed and how your body will respond. As several women commented by saying that it is easier to train for marathon than for labour.
Therefore, I am actually looking forward to this new challenge soon. hope time flies very... faster than I am dreaming or waiting so long enough ;)) xoxo.......

joyful baby preparation
currently, my baby inside me is getting very naughty and hyperactive as he keeps moving around inside me. Sometimes he is trying to get attention from either my hubby or me. When it kicks me too hard, I immediately grab my hubby's hand on my belly to soothe him. Surprised, it works effectively and can tell that baby loves my hubby too. hehe...... Actually baby knows very well that my hubby always sit beside me at every nights, that is why baby kicks me at right time. We both do love him much too and try our big best to take good care of him soon.

final journey - changing body
This does not mean that you are about to go into labour and literally drop your baby; you may still have several weeks to do. it is merely an indication that your uterus and your baby are both getting prepared for the labour ahead. As I mentioned earlier, it this is your first baby, engagement is likely to occur sooner rather than later. This is because the muscles of your uterus are tight because they have not been stretched by a previous labour and so are able to exert more pressure on the baby's head. Also, the arrangement of the pelvis bones is slightly altered after a previous vaginal delivery and this may delay engagement.
HOW YOU MAY FEEL PHYSICALLY
During these last few weeks of your pregnancy, BRAXTON HICKS' contractions will be a constant reminder of the fact that labour could start at any time. True labour contractions are much stronger and more painful, but if you are in any doubt about what you are experiencing you should always seek advice. Your doctor or midwife will encourage you to come into the maternity unit and be checked over, rather than stay at home feeling anxious. This is not the time to be ignoring abdominal pain and hoping that it will go away. Nor is it the time to worry that you cannot bother your midwife again, because you have already called her three time this weel with the same symptoms. It does not matter how many false alarms there are, it is essential that uterine pain is always investigated prompty and carefully.
However much you are trying to rest at this stage, you will probably still be feeling tired because you are unlikely to be getting enough of the continuous, uninterrupted sleep that you need to restore your mental and physical energy. Good-quality sleep involves cycles of four different stages from light sleep to deep sleep followed by REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, which is when you dream. if you are woken during any of these stages, the sleep cycle goes back to stage one when you fall asleep again. As a result, you miss out on the all-important deep sleep and REM stages and wake feeling poorly refreshed. Even if you manage to doze and sleep for quite long stretches of time, the repeated lack of good-quality sleep will mean that you become progressively more weary and exhausted.

final week 35 - 40
THE DEVELOPING BABY
It is quire a snug fit inside the uterus now. The baby is usually curled up tightly, head pointing downwards. waiting for labour to start. Movements are more limited but you will probably notice regular changes in the contours of your tummy as the baby shifts position.
Your baby continues to gain weight steadily during this final stage of pregnancy, which is almost entirely due to more fat being laid down under the skin, around the muscles and around some of the abdominal organs. The average term of baby will have a plump rounded appearance and will weigh 3 - 4kg; it is common for boys to weigh a little more than girls. Although your baby is too cramped to move freely now, you should still be able to feel movement and you may experience the odd sharp twinge as your baby throws a punch and indents the uterine wall. Remember that any sudden change in the pattern of your baby's movements needs to be investigated as a matter of urgency.
READY FOR BIRTH
The lungs are fully mature, and the baby continues to produce large quantities of cortisol to ensure that plenty of surfactant is produced in the lungs and that the transition to breathing air in the outside world goes smoothly. The heart is beating at a rate of 110-150 beats per minute. Dramatic changes will occur in the heart and circulatory system at the time of delivery when the baby takes his first breath.
HOW THE HEAD ADAPTS
Your baby's head is relatively much smaller than it was earlier on in the pregnancy, but the circumference is still as big as its abdomen. By the full term, the head remains one of the largest parts of the baby's body, so delivering it safely through the birth canal during labour is an important consideration. This is one of the reasons why the fetal skull bones do not fuse together until much later in neonatal life, Although the baby's brain needs to be protected by bone, these are quite soft compared to an adult skull and can slide over each other and overlap. This allows the head to mould to the shape of the mother's pelvis, and greatly eases the passage through the borth canal and vagina.
* most paragraphs I did not add there as it is pretty long one and dont want to tire your eyes to read this. So I only take out the interesting parts to blog here to show you how much fun the pregnancy journey even though preggers have to bear numerous of sufferings in their bodies due to hormone changes. but it is greatly worth to experience this entirely and parenthood can be more challenge and interesting of every little precious ones. *

spread love for baby
those clothes was given to me by my hubby's friend. Quite too many many boys clothes and most are in good & new conditions.
clothes I bought from baby fair at takashiaya basement about 3 months ago. some are 3 - 6 months and most are 6 - 12 months clothes so that baby wont outgrow them so fast as I know baby boys usually grow quite faster than baby girls. So I wont buy either newborn or 0-3 months baby clothes.
